Fitness is more than just weight loss!

As a personal trainer, I want to do more than just help you with your physical fitness goals. I want to help you learn what foods are better and which are not. That knowledge will do more than help you with weight loss or muscle gain. Choosing the proper foods to add to your daily diet can also help to strengthen your immune system and promote mental well being.

I am interested in your total health and wellness profile, not just a part of it. I will take the time to assess your current fitness level and dietary intake and then customize a plan specific for you. There is no such thing as a one-size-fits-all approach. Each person is unique and deserves the special attention only a personal trainer can give. I want to keep you safe, but moving forward toward your goal of becoming a healthier and happier person.

Need a little more incentive? It’s the start of the New Year and everyone always says they want to get in better shape. Well, if you mean that, I want to help make that a reality. So, for every 10 sessions you purchase, I will add a bonus session at no extra cost. If you want to really make it even more interesting, ask me about my discounts for couples and groups who want to work out together. There really is no excuse not to get on the road to a better, healthier and happier you.

Why I became a Personal Trainer

Booth 2Living in Cartersville in NW Georgia, hardly a week goes by where I don’t hear about the fitness level of so many Americans. It’s never good news. We hear constant reports about how we sit too long, not move enough, eat the wrong foods and need to exercise more. But, how does the average American, sitting in commuter traffic for sometimes a couple hours each day, along with 8-9 hours at a desk, find the time to “move more”? Add to that mix, a significant other, children, pets, etc… and by the time you have a moment to yourself, the last thing you feel like doing is moving!

I was in that exact same predicament a little over 6 years ago. I was adding weight, losing muscle tone, eating poorly and feeling my energy levels slipping with each passing month. I tried to find a personal trainer, but everywhere I turned, I had to pick from either a chiseled, muscle-bound male or a petite, female swimsuit competitor. Admittedly, I was jealous of their bodies and how they had sculpted themselves, but I knew that wasn’t going to be my path. I needed a realistic plan for results that would put me back to a healthy weight, give me additional muscle tone and promote a healthy heart with attainable cardio workouts. I needed to find someone, well, like me, only IN SHAPE! It was time to take a leap of faith.

Taking the next leap, are you ready?

IMG_1398While getting my personal trainer certification from the National Academy of Sports Medicine, I added the diet and nutrition modules to provide me with a well-rounded approach to health and fitness. I had to become my own personal trainer to get the results I wanted.

I decided a career change was in order. I could not be the only one juggling family, career and extracurricular activities. With that, SJD Health and Fitness became a reality here in NW Georgia. It is my goal to take all I have learned and help others achieve their own goals for personal health and fitness. What’s more, my backstory is the same as so many others and I hope it can be the inspiration you need to find that path to a better you.

SJD Health and Fitness operates in Cartersville, Georgia, conveniently located to support all of the surrounding communities, including the municipalities of Adairsville, Kingston, Emerson, Euharlee and White within Bartow County.
