Couch to 5K

I am pleased to formally announce my second Couch to 5K program, beginning September 12th and culminating 10 weeks later with the Turkey Trot on November 19th, a 5K to benefit the United Way of Bartow County.  You can click on the links below to print out the .PDF of both the flier (if you would like to print and post in public places) and the registration form.

Some comments from the last Couch to 5K

I’ve never been a runner. I’ve always been a fast-paced walker and hiker, but never a runner. When Susan announced the Couch to 5K session in the spring, I knew I wanted to participate.

At the age of 55, I knew the program would be challenging, but I was committed to doing my best. Each week, we anticipated what our new goals would be and were excited when we accomplished them.

With just a little time, we became stronger. Our breathing became less labored. We were able to cover distances that we never thought were possible. And then it happened. We did it. Just a week before the official race, we all ran the entire 5K course! What a sense of accomplishment. The confidence I gained through this experience has stayed with me long after the race was over.

Thank you, Susan Delmonico, for pushing us all to be our best.

I met Susan at the Woman’s Expo and took one of her flyers. I’m so glad I did! I decided to go for it and train for my first 5K. Susan was very encouraging and motivating. It was an awesome experience and so rewarding to be able to run the 5K at the end of it.

Susan’s Couch to 5K program is the most enjoyable running program I have ever participated in. Susan provides great, personal instruction for taking care of yourself that you won’t get with an app.

I am thankful I signed up for the 5K run coaching with Susan. She encouraged me to push myself to the limit, showing me that I could do it, even though my body was trying to tell me I couldn’t. Thanks to Susan’s coaching, I was able to run to the end!
